The mighty Ord River was dammed to create the Western Australia Ord River Irrigation Scheme in Kununurra. A byproduct of the dam is the Ord River Hydro Station that provides power to Kununurra, Wyndham and the far reaches of Lake Argyle. A road runs along the top of the dam wall and also along the bottom of the dam wall to access the hydro station. *Editorial use only.
