A short-beaked echidna (Tachyglossus aculeatus) wanders through the scrub looking for ants and termites. Its powerful claws allow it to pull logs apart in search of food. The claws on the back feet curve backward to enable grooming between the spines. Carnarvon National Park, Queensland, Australia.
